Hershell Garner, Ph.D.
Clinical Manager
Hershell Garner is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with degrees in Psychology and Ministry and more than forty years of dedicated service to helping others. Nearly thirty of those years have been devoted to addiction counseling and recovery work. Over the course of his career, Hershell has served in a variety of settings, including the criminal justice system and several residential treatment facilities, where he has worked as both a counselor and a program director.
In addition to his work in addiction treatment, Hershell is trained as an anger resolution therapist and a complicated grief counselor. He is also an ordained minister with experience in pastoral counseling and service as a local pastor. His approach to counseling reflects a belief that true recovery involves addressing the emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of those seeking help.
As a Clinical Manager, Hershell is deeply committed to mentoring counselor interns and developing the next generation of addiction professionals. He strives to instill both strong clinical practices and a genuine heart for service in those he trains.
Hershell’s work is grounded in his faith and a desire to serve God by serving others. Having personally experienced the need for recovery, he believes that the gift of sobriety must be shared with others. Each day he remains honored to help the men and women who come to Land Manor find hope, healing, and the possibility of a sober future through God’s grace.
